End of the Year Review... a couple days early...

2005

What did you do in 2005 that you'd never done before? Went to New Orleans!

Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year? Um, the YMCA membership did not happen. Resolution 2006?

Did anyone close to you give birth? Nope.

Did anyone close to you die? We all miss you Ron Labrie.

What countries did you visit? Well, some might have said that pre-Katrina Bourbon Street was like another country.

What would you like to have in 2006 that you lacked in 2005? "This year, I'd like to move out and finally be on my own." Mission accomplished. What I'd like to have? Well...

What date from 2005 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? Probably the day my little kid figured out yet another sign. :^) Those are good days.

What was your biggest achievement of the year? Finding the apartment, and setting up our new STaR Too program at Mosier. And getting my first credit card. :^p

What was your biggest failure? Can't think of anything really.

Did you suffer illness or injury? Erythema Nodosum. The evil Quasimodo of the leg disease, either penicillin or strep related.

What was the best thing you bought? Apartment, my big bed.

Where did most of your money go? Rent, insurance, the usuals.

What did you get really, really, really excited about? Going to New York and New Orleans and Chicago and Boston on overnights!

What song will always remind you of 2005? The entire "Avenue Q" soundtrack.

Compared to this time last year, are you: happier or sadder? "By far, happier." Ditto.

What do you wish you'd done more of? "Spend more time with Jon." Ditto.

What do you wish you'd done less of? Drink to illness.

Did you fall in love in 2005? Still am, unless you include how much better things continue to get.

How many one-night stands? Um, no.

What was your favorite TV program? "Family Guy" and I wish I could watch more "Las Vegas."

Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year? "Well, there's always people to dislike." I'm gonna leave it with last-last year's quip.

What was the best book you read? Working on "Son of a Witch" and "Pompeii."

What was your greatest musical discovery? Broadway soundtracks.

What did you want and get? An apartment!

What did you want and not get? Um, I plea the fifth.

What was your favorite film of this year? Is it a copout to say "Fever Pitch" or Star Wars III?

What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? 24. I went to Boston with my mom, went to the Aquarium with Katherine, then mom and I couldn't stay for dinner at the Hancock Tower because my stoopid littlest sister needed a ride to her softball practice.

What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? Bigger raises.

How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2004? Whatever I can wear to work that I don't mind my kids drooling/painting/shmutzing on.

What kept you sane? My mom.

Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? No one in particluar, but I am impressed that George Clooney is sinking a crap-load of money into building a massive Las Vegas casino and resort.

What political issue stirred you the most? Lack of leadership around FEMA and the hurricanes.

Who did you miss? I miss barely seeing or getting to talk to (IM included) Dan, Loribeth, Abby...

Who was the best new person you met? Co-workers at school and Jon's QuizBowl buddies.

Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2004? "Being open to any opportunities, otherwise I wouldn't be working with my kids." Ditto.

Quote a song lyric that sums up your year: "What do you do with a BA in English?" "It sucks to be you."
